A postsecondary degree can open doors, but the real return on investment depends far more on what students do while they are working toward a degree than what college name is on the diploma. In this session, teachers will learn how to help students connect key in-college behaviors — choosing the right major, building marketable skills, cultivating networks, completing internships, and engaging academically — to stronger career and financial outcomes. You’ll leave with practical ways to show students that they have far more control over their long-term return than they realize, and that smart choices during college matter just as much as picking the right school.
