[The Resource] ANALYZE: Advertising Campaigns
The Gist: This entrepreneurship activity gives students the opportunity to identify mediums of advertising and analyze the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, making them more aware of how ads affect them, as well as plan their own advertising campaign for their own business!
The Best Parts:
- Students get to look at three different types of advertisements through video, image, and audio (First Date - Hyundai, Lego, and Coke Summer) with products they may recognize from their own experiences, but with a more critical lens in this activity as they are asked to explain what made the ad effective or not.
- After discussing with a peer about the criteria made when evaluating the effectiveness of the ads, your students then extend and apply their learnings to their own business advertisements! They must consider the type of advertising medium, the reasoning behind their choice, and what the ad will involve.
