Help Shape the Future of NGPF: Announcing Another Two Raffle Winners!
You received a survey from us last week asking for your feedback on how you use NGPF. If you completed the survey, you were entered for a chance to win one of 10 gift cards and we’re announcing the first two winners today! Haven’t filled out the survey yet to enter the raffle? You still have time for a chance to win the remaining four gift cards.
Congratulations to the first two winners of the $50 Amazon Gift Cards! We asked them why they think financial literacy is important and what they are most excited about this summer.
Harriett Wallace who teaches at Lake Gibson High School (Lake Gibson, FL):
- I think financial literacy is important because so many today don’t know how to manage their money and it’s a cycle that continues down to their children. When financial literacy is introduced to youth in school, they learn the importance of saving, budgeting, and how to make financial decisions.
- I’m excited to have this short break from the classroom to relax and review the financial literacy skills provided by NGPF. I have truly enjoyed all zoom professional developments over the past two years and am so happy NGPF are continuing them, they have been beneficial to me as a personal finance instructor at the high school level and post-secondary level.
Carol Cardoso who teaches at Cumberland High School (Cumberland, RI):
-
Financial literacy is important because, without it, you could be blindly putting yourself in a tough financial position. A lot of my discussions in class are related to poor financial choices I have made because of zero financial literacy. My students are likely sick of me saying it but they are SO lucky to have access to such a class. My life would be very different had I learned then, what I know now.
-
This will be my first summer off as an educator since switching careers. One of the main reasons for the career change was quality of life. I am looking forward to the extra time with my family I wouldn't have normally had.
There is still time to take the 2021-2022 NGPF Usage Survey -- the survey only takes around 10 minutes to complete. We will be announcing the last four winners next week!
